Elizabeth Choi PhD Neuropsychology & Psychotherapy

Dr. Choi is a licensed clinical psychologist in California (PSY33916), and Hong Kong. She specializes in adult neuropsychology. Her services include: 1) Adult (18+) neuropsychological assessment* 2) Psychodiagnostic & personality assessment 3) Neurorehabilitation (cognitive remediation and health psychology focus for stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumor & other neurological diseases) 4) Psychotherapy (depression, anxiety, trauma, cross-cultural/immigration-related issues, coping with chronic medical diseases). *Types of neuropsychological assessments include: Stand-alone diagnostic clarity evaluation, cognitive tracking, or rehabilitation-focused testing, depending on client's needs. As a psychologist of Asian descent, Dr. Choi is honored to be able to provide culturally sensitive and multilingual services to people from all walks of life, particularly the Asian-American and Pacific Islander immigrant communities. All clinical services can be provided in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Dr. Choi obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology (Area of Emphasis: Neuropsychology) at Palo Alto University. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at UC San Francisco/Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital Neuropsychology Service, where she provided neuropsychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation to patients with brain injuries and dementia. She completed her internship residency at New York University (NYU) Langone Rusk Rehabilitation (Adult Neuropsychology Outpatient Clinic & Cardiac and Complex Medical Inpatient Unit). She obtained advanced neuropsychological clinical training at UCSF Memory and Aging Center, and VA Palo Alto Neuropsychological Assessment and Intervention Clinic. She also worked in the adult psychiatric and medical units at the Hospital Authority public hospitals in Hong Kong. ​ About Dr. Choi's practice: My practice focuses on using evidence-based neuropsychological assessment to inform rehabilitation needs. I conceptualize issues in a biopsychosocial approach. I utilize well-validated and culturally-sensitive assessment tools to clarify diagnosis, and to inform recommendations & treatment plans.
